It was the 11th of February, so it meant Valentine's Day was near. And being a university student at Seoul, Valentine's Day was bound to be celebrated.

And guess what? Niki was sulking. Cause he wouldn't be able to come with you.

You were 19, and in your first year. So this would be your first day going to a Valentine's ball hosted by any University. Seoul National University, at that.

And why wouldn't Niki be able to come? Well, cause SNU was strict. Unlike any other school or college that allows their students to bring their partners even if they weren't a student of their institute, SNU was like nope. ONLY the students of SNU were allowed to attend and if their partners are from a different institute, they wouldn't be able to bring them.

And Niki wasn't even a student to begin with. He was a K-pop idol in ENHYPEN. So, no way in hell he would be allowed in. SNU never appreciated exceptions. And they for sure as heck wouldn't allow K-pop idols.

Even though you wished that Niki would be able to attend with you, cause you know he would outshine every guy there.

He had the kind of face that instantly pulled attention without trying. Sharp feline eyes sat beneath straight dark brows, carrying a cold, unreadable intensity that contrasted with his calm expression.

His face structure was sleek and sculpted, with a razor-clean shaven jawline, high cheekbones, and smooth porcelain skin that looked almost flawless and very very handsome. An ideal Japanese guy who could outshine many Koreans.

Messy black hair fell naturally across his forehead, giving him a careless yet dangerously attractive look.

Tall—standing at a solid 186 cm—lean yet strong, his body had a dancer’s proportions mixed with a boxer’s toned build—defined arms, firm muscles, broad shoulders, and subtle but visible abs beneath his hoodies and shirts.

It was around 6 PM and a Saturday, so you were home and not in university. Niki had come over to your apartment around an hour ago after a recording session.

And currently, he sat on your bed, looking at the dress you would be going to wear to the Valentine's Day ball laying out on your bed.

"The dress is beautiful." Niki muttered to himself as he stared down at the dress.

It was a dark wine-red mini dress with black floral lace all over it. The top part was fitted around the waist, and the skirt flared out slightly, reaching your mid-thighs. The sleeves were long and made of sheer lace, ending in wide bell-shaped cuffs. The back had a large oval-shaped cutout that left most of the back open, with thin ties across the top to hold everything together.

Simple yet classy enough. You ain't going there wearing a fucking gown when you wouldn't even be attending it with your boyfriend of two years.

Next to it were a pair of black thigh-high platform boots you had worn only a few times. They went above the knees and had thick block heels with high platforms, giving them a tall, chunky look. You needed that since you were short.

Beside the boots sat a dark burgundy shoulder bag. It had a shiny finish, a simple curved shape, a short strap, and a gold detail on the front that matched the dress's deep red colour.

Niki looked over at where you were standing by your closet door, folding your other clothes after you did the laundry. You had a white tank top and some cotton home shorts on, your hair messy.

"You said you would be going with your best friend?" Niki asked as he fiddled with the sleeve of your dress.

That was true. You would be going with your best friend, since she was still single with no date for the ball. Basically, you both would go to have fun and eat the expensive buffet there. You were a foodie, after all.

Niki then looked back over at where you were. "You aren't going to dance with anyone, are you?"

Aww. Usually, he would act all nonchalant with that deep velvety smooth voice of his. But now? He just sounded plain adorable, and maybe sounded a little jealous?
