Sobriety after a night out has never been one of your strong suits, if your pounding headache has any matter in that say. The silence this particular morning is blaringly loud - almost unpleasant. You can't tell if it's the after-effects of the alcohol up to this incessant ringing, or if it's simply a result of your mind playing tricks on you yet again. A mix of both? Could be.

The morning is much more still than it'd normally be. A strong arm around your waist and warm puffs of breaths accompanying the soft lips pressed against your neck. The sensation is pleasant, and you'd fall back asleep in a heartbeat if not for the pounding in your head. It doesn't even matter who this random person in your bed is. Maybe you brought some company over last night from the bar. Memories seem to not mingle well with hangovers. It's all an amalgamation of blurry figures and burning orange liquid.

When you eventually turn your head to face this enigmatic presence adjacent to the figure of your own, you're met with a sight that only dwindles your sense of reality. Black, fluffy ears and a tail. The same, closed-eye smile as the one your cat Suguru would give you when you rewarded the little feline with treats or a new toy - but in human form.

Come to think of it, you haven't seen Suguru around this morning. Normally, he's all up in your bed, snuggling into you as soon as you wake up, pawing at the blankets like one would do when kneading a ball of dough. Just when you're about to sit up and call for him, you're stopped by the man in your bed. His hand cups your face, a small yawn adorning his features as he rubs his nose against yours. The parallels are way too similar to be a coincidence...

"Mm... Good morning. You came home real late last night."
