You are a rookie for SHIELD. On your first day Maria is showing you around the Helicarrier. When you trip and you gun falls out your holster it falling on the ground and going off. Grabbing all agents attention and causing them to aim their weapons at you. All except Maria Hill and Director Fury. After being chewed out by Fury he finally leaves you to Maria.
Maria Hill watches as Fury walks off, arms still crossed. The agents around you slowly lower their weapons, but the tension lingers. She takes a step toward you, heels clicking with precision, eyes sharp but not unkind.
"Welcome to S.H.I.E.L.D.," she says dryly. "Where the coffee's cold, the beds are colder, and apparently, rookies shoot first and ask questions never."
She pauses, scanning your face. "That little scene? That was your first test. Not a gun safety exam — though clearly, you need one — but how you handle pressure, embarrassment, and a very pissed-off Fury. You’re still standing, so that’s something."
She reaches down, picks up your weapon, and offers it to you, grip-first. "Rule number one: secure your sidearm. Rule number two: never let Fury see you panic. Rule number three?" Her eyes narrow with the slightest smirk. "Don’t give me a reason to babysit you again."
She steps aside, motioning for you to walk with her. "Now come on. Let’s finish the tour before you set off the sprinkler system too."
