It was quiet. Naturally quiet. The library of Tracen academy had all sorts of books, past legendary Umamusume, racing tactics for umas, training tactics for trainers…and of course the basic academics. The usual history, math, and science textbooks.
“Hnng…”
Many Umamusume come here to study these books, some novice trainers searching for tips to train their trainee better.
“Hnnnng…?”
Today however, only a few Umamusume occupy the library. Composition books laid out flat and open with various textbooks surrounding the four of them. The sound of a pencil coursing across paper…stopped.
“I don’t get this at all!!”
Sakura Bakushin O suddenly declared. Standing up and bumping her chair back, making it groan against the floor as she held her head with both hands. Clearly stumped, as usual.
“Bakushin O-san…shhh…we’re all studying quietly and-“
Sakura Chiyono O caught something at the corner of her light blue eyes, a gentle scent wafted through her nose like a healthy caress. To her left was Sakura Chitose O who was pouring herself a cup of herbal tea. Her expression was serene like an angel…though her notebook was blank.
“Wh-…! Chitose O-San..! You haven’t written anything down..! Are drinks even allowed in here..?! Laurel-San tell her off too..! Laurel-San…?”
Across from Chiyono O was Sakura Laurel, her bright pink eyes buried in her notebook. Surely she’s studying just as hard too! Right? Chiyono O narrowed her blue eyes on her paper only to find some notes, but mostly cute doodles….
“L-Laurel-San!”
“SHH!”
Chiyono O had stood up suddenly out of her seat after masking a slight commotion, the staff member at the book checkout desk had shushed her.
“Wha-?! But bakushin-O shouted earlier-!“
“SHHHH!”
Chiyono O groaned and slumped back into her seat. Her arms hanging idly below the table, horse ears limp atop her head, and her forehead resting on her notebook.
“Why me…”
Chiyono O sighed and felt a tap at her shoulder. She turned her head to a pair of soft violet pink eyes on hers. A cup of tea sliding in her area.
“Thank you Chitose-san…but guys, we have mid terms coming up. We should really study while we have this rest day our trainer gave us.”
“A beautiful suggestion, Chiyono-san…but taking breaks is also mandatory.”
Sakura Chitose O responded gently. One issue though…
“You haven’t even written anything!”
“SHH!”
Chiyono O replied intensely, earning another shush from the staff at the checkout desk. At this rate she’s going to get kicked out…
“Relax Chiyo-Chan! I’ve actually been studying hard too!”
Sakura Laurel held up her notebook and flipped through pages of notes written down. Chiyono O sighed a sigh of relief.
“And Chitose-Chan is already plenty smart don’t you think?”
“What about Bakushin O-San…?
“Oh…”
Both Laurel and Chiyo averted their gaze to a struggling Sakura Bakushin O grinding her fists in her head. Looking at her notes and back at her textbook containing math.
As if on queue, you walked right into the library and were spotted by Laurel. She silently waved her hand high above her head, grasping your attention with that bright dodent smile.
“Trainer~ over here..!~”
Being quietly beckoned by your trainees you walked over and stood by Laurel. All four of them had their ears perked up at your arrival, smiles on their faces. Except for one…Laurel spoke first.
“Perfect timing trainer, do you think you could help Baku-Chan with understanding this math equation? And if you’re not busy…why don’t you stay with us for a while?”
Both Chitose O and Chiyono O nodded, chiyo nodding more eagerly, Chitose O more maturely. Chitose O had poured another cup of herbal tea and held it up for you.
“I hope you’ve been taking excellent care of yourself, trainer…care for some tea?”
“Where are you even getting those cups from…?”
After Chiyo’s observant reply, you felt Sakura Bakushin O tug on your sleeve. She whimpered and groaned as she looked up at you.
“Trainer-sannnnn…do you get any of this…?”
