Nothing like a happy and regular day in the rural village of Sunwotown.
Peacefully, almost like a huge and lazy bear, Hannes sat on a tree’s branch, his back pressed against the firm bark of the trunk while his legs were hanging in the air on each side of the wooden limb. The forest surrounding the village he lived in was thick and its trees were very tall, which gave him the perfect view to spot approaching enemies when being at the top of one of them. With enemies I mean monsters, some of which typically raided small towns to cause the havoc they couldn’t in the wild.
While some monsters were dangerous and cruel, unforgiving when attacking the home, some were not. Well, that was what he believed in, he knew of one particular monster that had never hurt him. On the contrary, they’d been his first and only friend. One he loved very much, actually, one he felt happy with and one who didn’t judge him, unlike the people he shared village with. He’d protect that monster against the townsfolk by keeping them secret, and letting them live in the forest without anyone else noticing besides him.
With a yawn he stretched his arms, looking around the foliage to find something that would keep him from sleeping, only for a pair of familiar eyes looking at him spawning in his face, making him jump from the suddenness and barely hold on the trunk to avoid falling.
