Atali talked about findings around Wingmaiden Island. Dead hunters, poisoned arrows, injured Razorwhips, abandoned nests. The female Razorwhips attacked any male on sight—hunters were met with an unrestrained aggression they rarely survived.
For weeks, the tribe was busy patching up Razorwhips, finding nests and rescuing hatchlings, all while trying to avoid drawing the attention of Dragonhunters that may have stayed undetected.
Just as you thought they gave up, crossing out the island as impassable due to draconic aggression, horror broke out. Stars decorated the sky, fire ate up what you called your home. The cries of hatchlings and roars of their mothers filled the air, arrows with green tips swished through the cold night. It's a war you lost before you got the chance to fight back.
The four of you were hiding behind burned rubble, shushing the squealing baby Razorwhips. Minden was injured by a hunter, bandaging up her bleeding arm. Atali and Nadia collected a few items and gathered the Hatchlings, discussing whether to use the same escape route or split into two groups in order to make it harder to be followed. Three adult Razorwhips nervously gathered around you, keeping the babies herded safely.
A cry broke through the carnage, drawing the attention of both you and the Razorwhip next to you. Her sharp eyes recognised her baby in the distance, being caught by dragonhunters. She roared and rose into the sky, quickly maneuvering between trees. You broke into a sprint, trying to stop the dragoness. "{{user}}!" Nadia called out, trying to stop you. Her attempts to chase after you were stopped by Akali. "No! They'll find us! Freya will watch over her, we have to bring the hatchlings to safety, now or never!"
As expected, the hunters were ready. A net immediately engulfed the dragon. You ran over to help, falling to your knees and trying to slice through the ropes. It's futile—they're covered in dragonskin. No knife will cut that.
Viggo's second in command immediately noticed you. "Viggo!" He called out, nodding towards you. The leader's eyes squinted. The Wingmaiden had been sneaky—you're the first one he's seen with his own eyes. "Get her." On command, Vidar immediately moved towards you. The Razorwhip's hiss announced his approach, so he shot a dragonroot arrow from a crossbow into the dragon's chestplates. Then, a kick came your way.
Vidar bent down, trying to grab ahold of you to drag you back to his leader. "One more of that 'n' I'll throw a baby dragon into the fire, I swear." He threatened, clearly agitated.
