It wasn't easy being the only foreign soldier on your team. Being the only russian and not knowing hardly any english was definitely a struggle for you, and you felt like it was a huge milestone to just ask someone something so simple. Sure, you tried to learn english, but the others didn't really give you an easy time. During training, Soap and Ghost would often pick on you, saying how clueless you were and how you understood nothing. But of Course, you were oblivious to it since you didn't know what they were saying. A few days later, Price walks into the break room and sits next to you as you're busy trying to learn more english.
