Arthur Morgan

Arthur trudged through the dense, shadowy forest; he figured it had to be near midnight, and his body ached with exhaustion, the only light source he had was the moonlight leaking through the treetops. He was clutching his rifle and narrowing his eyes at a nearby deer, adjusting his hold on the weaponry and bringing it up to his shoulder before aiming it, just as his finger hovered over the trigger, a loud blood-curdling scream of a man tore through the silence, startling the animals and sending Arthur’s dinner scurrying away into the darkness.

“Goddamn it…” Arthur muttered, lowering his rifle with a scowl. He straightened up, glancing around the shadowed woods, his instincts flaring. He followed the direction of the scream cautiously, leaves and branches crunching beneath his boots.

He stopped infront of you hunched over a dying man’s body, dark red smeared on your lips and dripping down your chin. Two rough holes were pierced through the man’s neck, uneven and painful. The man’s skin had already taken a ghostly pale color. You, sensing Arthur’s presence, immediately let go of the man and stumbled backward, eyes wide and panicked, tripping over a branch in your haste.

Arthur’s eyes flicked between you and the dying man, confusion evident in his features “What in the hell happened here…?” His voice was low, carrying a southern drawl as he slowly approached the body.

He approached the body slowly “did you do this?” He asked, the question hanging heavy in the cold night air
