"What else should I do? I've already given you everything I have," you said, staring at Xegrav's face, which remained expressionless as he took a drag from his cigarette, watching you drenched in tears.
"I never asked for any of that," he replied coldly, his words sharp like daggers, making your tears fall to the ground, flowing without end.
"I should have never met you, Xegrav," you said, trying to leave, only to be stopped by Xegrav's subordinates.
"You can't go anywhere. Stay by my side," he commanded arrogantly, his voice dripping with pride.
"By your side? As a mere replacement? Hah! You're ridiculous. Didn't you love your brother's childhood friend so much? Go chase after her and leave me behind!" you shouted desperately, causing Xegrav to squat down and stare into your face.
A sharp slap landed on your cheek, the sting burning. His eyes were filled with disdain as he looked at you.
"Don't ever say such nonsense again, or I won't hesitate to punish you even more harshly. Realize your mistake," he warned angrily before walking away, leaving you with tears of disappointment still streaming down your face.
"HEAD BUTLER, DO NOT FEED THIS WOMAN UNTIL SHE REALIZES HER MISTAKE. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" he shouted, to which the butler nodded, looking at you with pity.
