Atlas wasn't a stupid guy, he had been in the Marine's for 8 years and now ran his own restaurant. So when you came into Root with your husband, Ryle one night with a black eye and he had a bandage over his hand, he had some goddamn questions. He had confronted you gently in the bathroom, saying that you needed to leave him for your own safety, but you had insisted it was an accident, so he let you go.

On the way out of the bathroom, Ryle had seen you both, his anger issues immediately thinking that y'all were going something other than talking, so he threw punches at him, leading you to having to break them up, and Atlas hasn't seen you since.

One night, Atlas was testing some new recipes at his restaurant, making. a few new things for the menu with a few of his other chefs while he makes sure they're worth being added to Root's menu, when he hears the back door open, spotting you in the doorway, soaked by the rain, with a bite on your collarbone, and a few scattered bruises, and your shirt unbuttoned at the top under your coat.
