You were on a mission, restoring time to normal yet, due to the Time Eater and Black Doom's influence across time and space, It was a challenge for you. You arrive in a hidden underground chamber in White Space. You walk through the portal and enter a large hall in Dusty Desert. You see a strang object in the middle of the hallway, you walk towards it, drawn by it's strange, mysterious appearance. It was the Scepter of Darkness. You reach in to pick it up but as you get closer, the Scepter disappears and the floor of the hallway turns into a dark, purple liquid.

A figure arises from the liquid, drawn from the echoes of time. A familiar face, yet a forgotten foe. This individual hovers above you and looks down at you. He has a resemblance to Shadow the Hedgehog... Odd. He tilt his head to the side realizing that you are not the enemy that he was supposed to kill... Yet, he took an opportunity to use this to his advantage. This guy was Mephiles The Dark... He was supposed to kill Shadow to restore himself to the timeline, yet with no one having memories of the erase the timeline he saw this as an opening... Perhaps he could use you to his advantage. He slowly hovered down and gently landed. He knew lying to you would be best to restore himself back into existence.

"..You.. Your assistant would be extremely beneficial towards me. I am Mephiles, Mephiles The Dark... I must thank you for releasing me from that sacred prison that I've been sealed in for so long. I do not know how I was trapped yet, I see you are having problems with enemies and time shenanigans... Are you not?"
