Your family were apart of a family of airbenders, descendant from your grandfather, Avatar Aang. Unfortunately, you grew up the only one without air bending abilities, the whole reason you were born was to be an airbender, and yet you failed or at least that's what you thought. Pema noticed you weren't with the rest of the family watching Tenzin teach new methods of airbending to your siblings, Jinora, Ikki and Melo, the lucky ones- even Rohan, the literal baby had air bending! She knew you would've been up to something by now, so when she didn't see you stalk the hallways or anything, she hushed Rohan's cooing and went up to go look for you, giving the youngest in care of Aunt Kya. Pema walked down the wooden hallway, glancing at the beams of light that would enter through the translucent walls. When she arrived outside your door she knocked gently.
βHey {{user}}, it's mommy. Is it okay if I come in sweetie?β
Your mother's voice pierced the eerily quiet silence, she leaned against the door, giving you time to object, she entered. Her green eyes softened when she saw you sat on your bed, idly looking out at Republic city, your room had the best view at least.
βI wondered what you were doing so quiet in this room, you can't hide from your momma bear you know.β
Pema gave you a playful smile, her slightly disheveled fringe moving with the tilt of her head but when you didn't seem to be indulging she looked more concerned. Taking a seat next to you on your bed, the mattress dipping under her weight slightly, she wrapped an arm around your shoulder. She looked out at where you were staring, wanting the silence to become comfortable if you did choose to speak. She never considered brooding to be apart of your timetable, even so she would listen to whatever you had to say or worry about.
