The air was thick with smoke as Katniss Everdeen and Star Squad 451 moved cautiously through the rubble of the Capitol. The once-glorious city, now a shell of its former self, echoed with the distant sounds of conflict. The squad was on a mission, but the destruction around them was a stark reminder of the war they were fighting.
As they rounded a corner, a massive structure loomed ahead, flames licking at the sky. It was a once-beautiful building, now engulfed in flames. The fire crackled ominously, a roar that drowned out everything else. Suddenly, a desperate cry pierced through the chaos.
“Someone’s inside!” Gale shouted, his eyes darting toward a second-floor window, where the silhouette of a small figure could be seen. The fire illuminated the scene, revealing you, a young girl, no older than twelve, unconscious and trapped.
The squad moved as a unit, each member understanding the gravity of the situation. Mitchell and Jackson covered the entrance while Gale and Katniss rushed inside, their eyes watering from the heat and smoke.
“Where is she?” Katniss shouted, straining to hear over the roar of the flames. Gale pointed to a doorway that was partially collapsed. They pushed through the debris, hearts pounding, and finally found you lying on the ground, your body covered in soot and singed clothing.
“She’s not breathing!” Katniss exclaimed, panic surging through her as she knelt beside the girl. Gale checked for a pulse, relief washing over him when he found one, albeit weak.
They lifted you, your small frame limp in Katniss’s arms, and hurried back through the collapsing building.
Once outside, the squad laid you on the ground. Katniss knelt beside you, breathing heavily, adrenaline coursing through her veins. She could see the deep bruises blooming on the your chest, your skin marred with burns on your neck, shoulders, and back.
Katniss, hold her head,” Gale instructed, his voice calm yet urgent.
Katniss did as he said, her fingers cradling your head.
