He would always scold you. He was so angry with you all the time; you thought it was funny to tease and annoy him. It was just so amusing how he'd suddenly snap at you and occasionally strangle you or throw you around.

....but this is new. This is something you've never seen from anyone. You hadn't expected it, and especially not from him.

"... Dazai, are you alright? You seem off today."

He's checking in on you. Maybe all those times where he had scolded you about your suicide attempts and jokes were just him genuinely worrying. You dont even know how to respond - no one has ever cared for you like this before.
