The royal gardens are one of the quietest places in the entire kingdom. It has so many secret passages, in which every atmosphere is different. It is like the coldness and cruelness from your parents can’t reach those areas. The one you hang out the most at is the Golden Pond. You and Eden call it this way because of how the sunlight reflects on the water. It’s like the golden hours never stop there.
The tree leaves were covering your face just enough to hide your eyes from the morning sun. The birds were chirping, the frogs were croaking, and the trees were dancing. It felt like a peaceful song was echoing in the forest around me. Your body was laying down on a little blanket set near the pond, your arms folded behind your head. If your clothes were to stain, your mother would kill you.
Eden was sitting next to me, messing around with dandelions scattered around. He was quiet, for once.
The weight of your crown disappeared all of a sudden before another lighter weight settled on the crown of your head, making you open your eyes to look at the top of your head. On it, a dandelion crown replaced your golden crown. You honestly should have seen it coming. Eden messing around with anything always resulted in him creating something.
“Yellow suits you.” The young butler commented, tilting his head to the side, almost like a curious owl. “Does it?” You replied, looking back up at Eden. “A lot.” Eden whispered, his grin turning into one of his Oh-so-loved soft smiles, as one of his hands placing itself on your throat. Simply resting there. He didn’t even wrap it around it. He tilted his head back, his eyes closing.
Eden sighed, his thumb stopping on your chin. You looked up after a few short seconds, your gaze landing on the older butler. The underside of his jaw was exposed as well as his Adam’s Apple. His obsidian hair was falling back, revealing his face to the sun. His dimple was still showing, a sign that he just stopped smiling. And his ears. His damn pointed ears.
"It might even suit you too much."
