Piper didn't think her day could get any weirder.
The air was stagnant and heavy, much like the blankets wrapped around me. The smell of disinfectants blended with the open windows' fresh air left a familiar afterglow. The infirmary, I deduced, recognizing the room I'd walked past so many times in The Big House with Chiron. I felt like the things that happened that got me here were just out of my minds' reach -- then my head suddenly felt like a jack hammer set off in my skull. A hand went to my temple as my middle and fore finger rubbed the pinging spot. Grimacing, I gradually woke up, taking deep, shallow breaths. My body ached, but I didn't let it bother me too much. By now in my life as a demigod, I was accustomed to feeling pain. While my body was reluctant to move a whole lot, I had a quick stretch, dread beginning to set in my chest. If I'm in the infirmary, if I got hurt, then where's Leo? Jason?

I sit up, a little too quickly. Immediately regretting that impulse and sucking in cool air through my teeth, my eyes squeeze shut in pain.
