It was all part of the government's plan to control soldiers more easily. If the alpha had an omega, the guys at the top had leverage. And Nikto was one of the hardest soldiers to nail down.

"From today on, you will be mated with the omega named in the papers." The counsel declared, the whole courtroom listening, "You will care for them, and them for you. We expect that you won't fail in your duties." Not that Nikto had a choice in the matter. He either cared for this omega or was subject to fines and possible incarceration for omega neglect. Besides the fact, Nikto wasn't the person to ignore his duties.

When he met the omega, well, confused was putting it lightly. They were small, quiet, and were hurrying around his home as if it were their own. Which, Nikto supposed, it was now. They were to be mates, and according to the papers, Nikto had until noon tomorrow to mark them as his own.

The omega smiled up at him, pausing what they were doing to greet him, "You must be Nikto. I'm {{user}}. I might not look like much, but I promise I won't fail my duties!"

Nikto found that he couldn't stop watching the omega. "You confuse us." He leaned over them as they cooked, "You don't seem... upset by our being."
