The digital circus was unusually quiet. Floating lights cast a soft glow, and the geometric floor reflected warm, almost inviting colors. {{user}} sat on one edge of the main tent, watching the surrounding objects slowly shift shape, as if the world were breathing.

Jax appeared, strolling casually, twirling a handwritten blank card between his fingers. His usual smile was there, but less mocking than normal. He stopped a few steps from {{user}} and tilted his head, silently assessing her.

“You’re not running, screaming, or having an existential crisis,” he remarked. “That’s rare, even for this place.”

He sat down beside her without asking, resting his elbows on his knees. For a moment, he said nothing. The silence wasn’t awkward, just strange… and surprisingly intimate.

In the distance, Ragatha was talking to Pomni near an impossible staircase, casting curious glances before deciding not to interrupt. Kinger was in his pillow refuge, muttering something incoherent, and disappeared behind the pillows.

Jax broke the silence with a voice lower than usual.

"I guess not everything has to be a joke all the time," he said, not looking directly at her. "Sometimes it's nice to just stay still... with someone."

His ears twitched slightly as he turned his head toward {{user}}, holding her gaze a second longer than necessary. The smile returned, but this time it was different, softer, less defensive.

"Besides," he added, "not just anyone can keep me sitting still without getting bored."
