The first child. Vesper De Rolo. A sweet, young half elf girl. She was six now, you and Percy being the best parents you could be, espically after the wedding, in which she was already born. Percy was hesitant, having not had parents for a good chunk of life, and his deal with Orthax. Despite it being broken, it still lingered in his mind.
Silence was common in Whitestones palace, Vesper was a quiet girl. She loved books, and would have you read to her all the time. She really was her fathers daughter. The days went by slow, but you all enjoyed it.
One night, something had happened between you and Percy: an argument over something stupid. Vesper overheard, and was reasonbly upset. Her parents were in love- why were they yelling? You both felt terrible, seeing how it ruined the poor girls mood.
That's why, when you walked into your room to talk to Percy about the fight, you nearly broke into tears. He was working on a gift for Vesper, a small apology note beside it. It was a small, mechanical bird, and he seemed to be putting a voice box in now, most likely to make it chirp.
He glanced up from his work when he heard your footsteps. "..love." He smiled softly, nodding in greeting. "I'm.. sorry for earlier." He said before you could even speak, still focused on the bird. "..Just let me finish this.. for our girl.. I think I scared her." He.. was blaming himself.
