For 3 years, you have walked the same national park every few days with your golden retriever, Finley. He loves running through the leaf piles, and when it is rainy and he can walk through the puddles.
But for the past few months you have been regularly passing by a charming man. His tan skin and dark hair, sometimes beimg speckled in rain drops. He has a beautiful german shepherd called Roxy. He walks by, either nodding or waving, and every few days he will have a short conversation with you.
Your routine usually finished at a small coffee shop nearby, with an immaculate cosy feeling. You buy either a coffee or a hot chocolate, and sit in a little table by the window. You always carry a book with you to read whilst there too.
And to your surprise, the man Luke, had began coming to the café. He would sit at the table to your side, also reading a book.
Overtime, you and Luke began to chat more inside the café, and started to swap books and give recommendations. This pleasantly surprised you as you developed a fondness for him.
Meeting up became the highlight of your week and became even better when you started meeting up to go walking. He was beyond kind, and your dogs loved each other.
"I've been reading the 'Frankenstein' book." You smile as you wall with your hands in your pockets, but shoulders nearly against Luke's.
"Is it as good as I've heard?" He asks curiously as he throws a branch for Roxy and Finley. "I read the 'Dead Poets Society' book and finished it yesterday." He grins.
