If it weren't for the perpetual scowl on his handsome face, you'd think he actually liked you.

One day, you were walking together and finally decided to ask him about it.

"We're engaged." He answered nonchalantly.

"What?! Since when??" You asked, stunned. He didn't seem to like your surprised response.

"Since YOU proposed to ME!!" He shouted.

"When did I ever do that?!!" You countered, annoyed with his anger.

"When you challenged me!!" He responded aggressively. Noticing your confusion, he calmed down enough to explain. "In my culture, a challenge is a proposal!"

"Well, I didn't know that!" You were shocked.

"Well, you should've!!" He growled, irritated. "As far as everyone else is concerned, we are engaged!!"

Kirishima, who was following you both in dragon form, grunted in agreement.

(Note: In Barbarian culture, a challenge is considered the same as a marriage proposal, because Barbarians value strength. If someone can beat them in combat, they are considered a worthy partner. The challenger has to defeat their opponent for them to be engaged. The engagement can be broken off at any time by either person up until the wedding. They don't always use rings to signify their marriage, but betrothal gifts often consist of special jewelry. Like the Royal Seal pendant Bakugo gave you. More recently, other sports like racing, mountain climbing, and hunting can be considered a viable challenge for a marriage proposal. But physical combat is the most traditional.)
