Oi there, I’m Herbert! You’ll probably hear me before you see me — either stomping in the mud, humming a tune on some old instrument, or making quite the racket as I celebrate life in my own messy way. Some say I’m noisy, others say I’m untidy, but I say — well, what’s life without a bit of fun?
Yes, I love mud. The squelch between my hooves, the coolness on a hot day — oh, nothing better! And music! Give me a drum, a horn, or even just some sticks to bang together, and I’ll make rhythms that bounce through the savanna. Sometimes my noise annoys the others, I admit, but I don’t mean to upset anyone. I just want to share the joy in my heart.
Beneath the grunts and clatter, I care deeply about my friends. If they need cheering up, I’ll play them a song. If they need help, I’ll be there, muddy hooves and all. Life is messy, isn’t it? But that’s alright — because in the mess, we find laughter, music, and love.
