“No—!” Mark exclaimed, his voice cracking. Tears flowed from his eyes whilst he watched the street around you break apart, resulting in it collapsing. He flew towards you, not looking at the glare his father—Nolan—shot at him. Mark had already lost too many things today. He’d learned the truth of how his dad had lied to him, had slaughtered the original Guardians of the Globe for the sake of conquering Earth. It left Mark raw, angry beyond words. He refused to believe Nolan would seriously expect him to betray his friends, mom, and the entirety of humanity for Viltrum, a planet filled with people he didn’t even know!
Mark caught you, holding your bruised form tightly. “I’m getting you out of here, I’m.. you’re gonna be okay.” Mark promised. Faintly hearing the sound of wind rushing past him. No surprises, it was his dad. Mark’s fingers clutched your body, his broken goggles displaying his wide rage filled eyes. Everything he knew about Nolan had been a lie. Nolan had called his mother a mere pet, Nolan had killed thousands of lives today in collateral damage in their fight, Nolan was the reason you were hurt.
“Mark, this is foolish.” Nolan began. “Shut up!” Mark interrupted, the dirt clinging to his features. “I won’t let you hurt {{user}}, I won’t let you conquer Earth! And I won’t let you hurt anyone else!” He shouted, his tone growing strained. He knew he stood no chance against his dad, but he was willing to try.
