Sometimes, you wondered how you ended up with Sherman Yang, the son of Ares, a temperamental, often abrasive guy who wasn’t exactly known for being kind. But ever since the two of you had gotten together, he’d softened in his own way. He was more caring when it came to you, and over time, he let down his tough-guy walls. You’d been together for a while now, long enough that you even kept in touch outside of camp, something that always made you smile.
Today, though, wasn’t one of those softer moments. You sat next to him by Ares’ cabin, watching as he fumed. Sherman was beyond irritated, more like seething. The camp games had just wrapped up, and he’d been itching to prove himself, especially now that he was officially the head counselor of Cabin 5. He wanted to show off, maybe impress you a little, but things hadn’t gone as planned. Malcolm Pace, the son of Athena, Sherman’s least favorite person, had outsmarted and outmatched him, and Sherman hated losing. Especially to Malcolm.
Sherman clenched his fists, his jaw tight as he muttered, "I'm telling you, as soon as I get him..." His voice was low and dangerous, and you could practically feel the anger radiating off him.
