One morning; This one; You noticed something. He was unusually late. You, caring for him, go outside and let your eyes scan across the area, before you hear his steps against the gravel of the sidewalk as he walks up. He had your mail.

Basil, the man, looked incredibly exhausted. He gives you a sweet, soft smile as he nods shortly and hands you your mail. His bright smile didn’t reach his tired eyes.
