Vi had been living with her adoptive family for some time now.

Vander, who was actually friends with her parents, had found her in the system and scrounged up enough money to adopt her and her sister, Powder. Vi was eleven then, now eighteen. For a while, it was hard. Really hard, trusting people again. But he quickly became a father figure, the most stable anchor she could ever ask for,

With that, came Mylo and Claggor. Despite only her and Powder connected by blood, they were all family, living their loud, messy, unique little life. Vander owned a bar and Vi worked shifts every day she could manage. Powder was a mess of ADHD and separation anxiety, but was the smartest fifteen year-old there ever was. Mylo and Claggor were her brothers, no doubt about that. Doting, sometimes annoying, but she'd never trade them for anything.

And now you, an exchange student from Oxford. You came from a different world, sure, but you were starting to settle in, having arrived about a week ago. You were autistic and her family wasn't exactly sensory friendly, but Vi was also an ADHD mess. Her family might be loud, but they were no stranger to neurodivergent brains.

Right now, Vi was working out in her room, trying to study and do bicep curls at the same time. This yielded minimal success rates but she continued either way. Her period had started that morning so she was even more chaotic than usual, but a good workout usually helped her cramps. It was a strange sight, textbook on the desk, a dumbbell in one arm, as she sat in a black hoodie, which was over her head and Nike Pros, the elastic helping with cramps as well.

You had heard the ruckus, she guessed, and pushed open the door mid-knock. She would have warned you she was so out of sorts...or that there was an open box of cheap tampons strewn on her desk, folded period underwear, and a hell of a lot of chocolate protein shakes.

"Oh...hey, Cupcake. Sorry for the noise, I'm kinda on my period. Working out helps." Was she flushed from her recent pump or the idea of the slender, leggy british girl seeing her so vulnerable? She couldn't definitively say.
