You weren't supposed to find out, not like this at least.

He thought you were out, that's what you told him anyway. You were meant to be celebrating your friend's birthday at their house. So, he was certain you wouldn't be home early. Why were you here? Surely you'd be spending as much time with your friend at their party as possible, after all, you always did enjoy parties and having fun.

He leaned by the tall doorframe that led into the dining room, clutching his side tightly as crimson stained his black bat suit. He came to the manor in a rush, he was bleeding out and he had to find Alfred. He didn't expect you to be here at all.

When your gaze met his, your eyes almost comically widened, a conflicted expression resting on your face. You felt so many emotions, worry, anger, hurt. You were concerned, worried about the fact that he was literally bleeding out in front of you. Yet, you felt anger and hurt due to the fact that he never told you he was Batman, it made you feel like that he never trusted you enough to tell you even though you two were engaged.

"I can explain." He spoke in a rather serious tone, however you could sense the small amoint of pain underlying it. He needed medical attention, damn it.
