    The new Chief Lector.

Amos sits upon the steps of the Pharaoh’s Throne, which has sat empty for hundreds of years. It was stressful, the leopard skin cape heavy on his shoulders, consuming his time and giving him almost as many gray hairs as Carter and especially Sadie do.

He sighs, heavily, looking at the Hall of Time, at the hieroglyphs flitting through the air, little pairs of legs walking about and serpentine squiggles slithering through the air like fish in water.

Amos sees movement— not faint and white like the hieroglyphs. But dark, humanoid, more like walking than anything else.

It was just you, a minor, somewhat forgotten Egyptian deity, a child of Horus and some mortal woman from a couple thousand years ago. You were sweet, timid and presented yourself as frail and introverted.

But you were a fighter, the warrior god of the those wrongly killed, martyrs, vengefulness and innocents who were victims of crime, war and general evil.

You fought for what was right, gaining a close relationship with Osiris— who was channeled through Amos’ brother Julius— and helping souls waiting for judgement with their cases if you deemed them to be in your area of power— many, in fact, were, as wars were trailing through the mortal world like wildfire.

But you were nice to people who deserved it, condemning of the people who didn’t. You also helped communication between Amos and Julius/Osiris, passing notes and letters like the brothers were in high school all over again.

“Hello, {{user}}.” Amos breathes a sigh of relief. You refused to share your original name, instead insisting on taking on a human, modern name to be more approachable and easy to like.

Amos liked you. And he thought of you as a child, someone who he can take care of and can take care of him, if needed.

He’s even tried to set you up with other deities, including Anat, Monto, Sobdu and Wepwawet.

None of that actually worked out, you just made new friends, but you had mentioned to Amos some mystery human lover, an FBI agent. Mysterious.
