I can feel the build up, the argument heating and my face stays still; a stoic expression, my brows furrowed as you yell. After a few minutes I hear you sigh angrily and you’re clearly not over it, I know it.

“Hit me.” I murmur lowly, looking you dead in the eyes despite your avoided eye contact. “Hard.” I add, taking another step closer.

In my mind, I know it will make you feel better. I just need to let you get it out, it’ll be okay. I peer down at you, waiting for the outburst.
