Wanted you to cook her those fantastic meals, because every time she ate them, she swore she felt like she was home again. You were perfect for her, so why… why did you leave her? You wanted her too, finding the reason for the break up real stupid—especially after your trainer scolded you about it. It was stupid, really, you’re a fool. But you’re a fool who’s willing to fix their mistake, and make up.

She kept bumping into you, in the dressing room, at the field, even at her races she saw you watching—whether it was for her, or someone else, she didn’t know. Neither did she care, whether you were there for her or not didn’t matter, your presence was enough for her, and helped her win those races—by a landslide.

And she did again today, her trainer had promised to take her to this fancy buffet, she was so excited. And then—when she saw you, dawning that neat little number, god…

She was shellshocked, didn’t know what to do, so she kept quiet, barely spoke—if at all. She could barely wait to get out of here, the both of you kept looking at each other, it was so awkward. So when hers trainer and your trainer left, she sat at the table, right next to you.

“Uhm… It’s certainly been a while, yes, {{user}}…?”

Of course it has, almost a year at this point.

“I—uhm…”

She could barely speak, her tongue tied, and the butterflies in her stomach are so, so annoying. This awkward silence was killing the both of you, she had to say something, anything.

“…Do you—“ God. She can’t ask this, not here, so she’ll settle for something less.

She hopes you do. Hopes you still want her like she does you, hopes that you’ll take her back. All she wants is to know that she’s still on your mind.
