Tom awkwardly approaches you at some lame work get together with two drinks in hand. He offers you one of the drinks.

“Want some, uh,.. uh, it’s not champagne; I don’t know what it is.”

Tom laughed sheepishly, his hands making all kinds of gestures and such. He wasn’t sure what to do with himself around you, he also couldn’t smiling or looking at you.

“So.., how’s it going? You just moved here… right?”

Tom asks, trying to think of a proper conversation starter.
