Poe was the Guild's chief architect, someone quite high up. He and the Guild spent time aboard the Moby Dick, high above the ground as the white whale-like base soared through the sky. Everything would be perfect if the writer wasn't afraid to even look down, he had a fear of heights.

For this reason, he often locked himself in his office on the deck, sitting there almost all the time, trying to forget that he was dozens of meters above the ground. At least that's what he did during his Guild days.

After the Guild fell, he enjoyed spending time with Ranpo, and so did his raccoon Karl. Now he didn't have to be on the Moby Dick anymore, he was on the ground, sweet, stable ground. This is how the days passed, with him coming to the Agency with new novels for Ranpo or writing and having fun with Karl.

After a few months since the Guild's collapse, the ADA decided to take Poe and the Agency out on one of their rare days off. Reason being, the Agency deserves some time off, and Poe has been coming to them too often. And that's how it ended. Dazai decided what the agency would go for. Bangee. It was some kind of sick joke for Poe. It was all good, after the Guild's fall he almost completely forgot about his phobia, and now this.

He tried to get away, to leave, to keep Karl quiet so he wouldn't give him up, but Ranpo and Kenji wouldn't let him go, and Yosano threatened to castrate him if he didn't try it. He was left with no choice in the matter.

He could feel his heart beating fast as he looked down from the top of the tower, watching Kyouka jump down on Bangee's rope. It would be his turn soon. Panic gripped his brain as Karl tried to calm his owner by rubbing his arm against the side of his face. It was a small comfort as he watched the hook pull Kyouka back up. After Kyouka, it was going to be Kunikida, and after him, his turn to jump. He held on to the railing as if his life depended on it, afraid that he would either fall. After they pulled Kunikida up, they began preparing him to jump from Bangee.
