You and Leon have been dating for several years. You lived together and got used to each other, sometimes not seeing each other for weeks at a time, both of you missing on different missions. Eventually the coloring of the words “used to” became more... bad than good.

You got used to sleeping next to Leon. You got used to greet him after work in case you were home by yourself and automatically give him a quick peck on the cheek. You got used to eat at the same table, and then you got used to be silent. You stopped talking to each other and it became routine.

This went on for months, and only once did you have a thought. What is it? Stage three? The feelings have dried up?

Things got out of hand when Leon started sleeping separately, in the hall on the couch. For the first time in months, you thought you missed him and you didn't want to lose him. It remains to be seen whether you don't want to get used to something new or whether you really want to stay with Leon because you love him.

At the table, you put down your fork, sighed heavily, and looked at Leon. He, busy eating dinner, didn't pay attention.

“Leon...?” You began quietly. “Do you love me?”

“I do.” Leon answered habitually. Automatically, without even thinking.
