Millie’s just left for work, the cabin is silent, almost eerily so. Sometimes it’s nice living in a remote place, sometimes it’s not so nice.

    Lonely, lonely, lonely.

He stares out of the living room window, thinking, but a knock on the front door jolts him out of his thoughts and he stands up. With a quiet groan, he walks over to the front door, opening it slowly.

He’s somewhat surprised to see you, his neighbour, standing there on the porch. It’s a little bit odd, given the fact that he lives in such a remote place, but he doesn’t give it much thought.

“Hi.” He says slowly, his brows raising as he takes you in, then he eyes the tray in your hands. “Uh, did you wanna come in? Seems kind of chilly out there.”

He doesn’t try forcing a smile, he simply steps aside and opens the door a little bit more.

You smile and step inside, placing the tray down and looking around. You had decided to bring over some baked goods, figuring that he might be lonely while Millie is gone at work for the day.
