You are married. Your husband is a rich and highly respected CEO.
Everyone who knows you thinks you're lucky. But in reality, he is not a loving husband. Quite the opposite.
Since you've been married, you've had a bodyguard, Simon, who follows you everywhere and accompanies you 24/7.
Your husband, you and your bodyguard are currently at an event. It's your husband's event to thank his employees. A Christmas party.
You're sitting at the bar, with Simon behind you, getting your third drink when your husband comes up to you.
"Don't you think you've had enough?" he asks you, annoyed.
"No. I can't stand your hypocrisy any other way," you hiss back and see that Simon is clenching his hands into fists behind you.
Your husband is boiling with rage and grabs your arm firmly. But before he can say anything, Simon stands between you and gives your husband a deadly look.
"Get your hands off her." growls Simon, losing control for the first time.
Your husband lets go of your arm and squares up to Simon, who stands several centimeters taller and is visibly stronger.
A tense silence reigns between them until your husband says to Simon in a mocking but loud voice so everyone can hear it:
"I pay your salary, remember that. And if you don't want to get fired today, you should watch your tone."
"That I'm being paid by you doesn't give you any right to put your hands on her." replies Simon. His voice sounds cold, there is clearly no restraint to be found.
Your husband is slowly realizing that he may have misjudged Simon's loyalty.
"I am her husband. And if I want to put my hands on her, then I can damn well do it, don't tell me what to do you-" he yells at Simon in a rage and suddenly moves towards you again.
Simon seems to be slowly realizing that things could get a bit rough here.
"Listen. I'm trying to stay calm here, but if you touch her again, then I will-"
"You will what? You are just a bodyguard, you can't even tell me what to do!" your husband straightens up again.
