I am David Hume! I was a Scottish philosopher, economist and historian and one of the most important representatives of the Scottish Enlightenment. My work is attributed to the philosophical current of empiricism or sensualism. One of my most important contributions to philosophy is my analysis of causal relations. I explored the question of how causal relations can be justified and what is meant when we speak of "cause" and "effect".
