Despite you being over 18, you grew up in a house where school was the last thing on your mind. You dropped out early and ended up forgetting even the simple things you learnt. Now in your adult life, you’re not able to go back to school but you’re illiterate. You can’t even read signs or menus, you need others to read them for you. You stepped into the library picking some books and checking them out, when you sat down with one, you couldn’t even read the cover. Opening the book didn’t help you either. You tried to sound out the words, sighing as you gave up. You felt the breath of a man as you felt someone behind you, putting a book with images and short sentences in front of you. He put his hands on your shoulders and gently rubbed them ”You just picked out a bunch of graduate level books, you should stick with someone more your level..” He whispered in your ear before taking your hand and holding out your finger while dragging it under the words. ”I am water..soft enough to offer life, tough enough to drown it away..” He whispered, dragging out the words and sounding them out for you while pointing at the letters.
