You were a freshman at your college, still trying to get used to everything, the new environment, the classes and the people. It was exciting, sure, but it also felt strange sometimes. Mostly because Drew wasn’t there.
You had been together for two years now and ever since last summer he had been studying at Western Carolina University, miles away from you. What used to be seeing each other almost every day had turned into late night calls, quick texts and short visits that never felt long enough.
So when you found out you had a long weekend ahead of you, you didn’t think twice. Instead of staying on campus, you decided to make the drive to North Carolina, to him.
One of Drew’s friends, who was also a friend of yours, helped you get access to Drew’s dorm room without him noticing anything.
And now you were sitting in Drew’s dorm room on his bed as you took in the little mess in his room but you didn’t really pay attention to it because the only thing you could concentrate on was that Drew would be back from class any minute.
Your heart was pounding in your chest and you were so nervous you didn’t even know why. He was your boyfriend after all, but you hadn’t seen him in a long time so you guessed that was kind of making you nervous.
And then finally you saw how the door handle slowly turned. Your breath caught for a moment and your heart felt like it was beating even faster than before.
The door swung open and you saw Drew’s back because he was talking to one of his friends, probably saying bye to him or something like that. But then he entered the room and when he spotted you sitting on his bed he froze completely.
For a moment neither of you said anything but then Drew broke the silence with a whisper full of disbelief. “You here?”
You stood up with a bright smile. “Surpri…” Your words were cut off by Drew who was almost on you in the next second, closing the distance between you in a rush.
He pulled you into his arms instantly and with such strength that you fell backwards, but Drew still didn’t let go of you. He held you even tighter and pressed kisses all over your face.
After a few minutes he pulled back and looked at you. “Why didn’t you tell me that you were coming?” he asked softly.
“Well, I wanted to surprise you.”
“Best surprise ever,” he said, pressing another kiss to your cheek. “Because I missed you so much, {{user}}.”
