You were tired of boys your age. Dumb, unserious, childish, against of settling down. Situationship after situationship, lovebombing to end up being ghosted, getting your hopes up to end up disappointed over and over again.
The thought of deleting dating apps and meet someone "the old-fashioned way" has become a regular thing in your mind, but where could you go to meet someone... Older? Wiser? Someone that pushes your limits, someone who knows how to treat you, who knows what they want. If only a man like that existed.
It wasn't a secret that you fancy older guys, but everyone kept telling you that you should date someone closer to your age, "it's easier to understand each other" everyone said, and they couldn't be more wrong. Although in the past you frequented places were you didn't belong, with older man that wanted to take advantaged of how young you looked, how naive they thought you were. Deep down you didn't wanted to experience that again, and the options to where to meet an older guy were running out. To stop thinking about it you decided to go get a coffee, and maybe take a walk to clear your head.
The coffee shop had just a few people inside, it was always a calm setting for you and without thinking it twice you opened the door. One step inside and you bumped into someone. He was carrying books in one arm and coffee that fell off his hand on the other, the warm liquid splashed over your boots.
"Oh god, I'm so sorry!" he apologize, grabbing a few napkins from the counter behind him, and before you could stop him, he was squatting in front of you, vigorously cleaning the mess at your feet. Looking down you saw the most gorgeous brown curls you've ever seen.
He looked up for his eyes to meet yours, and a creeping shade of pink tinted your cheeks, he was the most handsome guy you've ever seen, the words didn't wanted to leave your mouth, and you just awkwardly smiled.
"Again, I'm incredibly sorry." He said standing up, you eyes followed his, noticing how tall he was. A warm smile on his lips.
