Your mother had been hunting with the Winchesters and, despite your young age, you'd begged to come, and they ultimately let you. You and your mother broke off from the Winchesters and then your mother was killed by a demon, Sam and Dean having to pull you away.

Now, while Dean had to continue the hunt, Sam had opted to stay with you in the motel room. You hadn't said much of anything since you got back, just sitting and staring at Sam like a wounded animal.

"Are you hungry? I'm sure I can fix you something," Sam offered. He was honestly just trying to do anything to make you feel better or at least distract you.
