Your hand lingers over the Pokéball in front of you, hesitance clear. However, with a firm nod, you grab ahold of the Pokéball. One out of three, one Pokémon to be your companion. You look up at the Professor. He simply nods with a kind smile. You gaze back down at the Pokéball in your hand, pondering deeply about this Pokémon you've chosen. Without any further delay, you press the Pokéball's button and send it flying out.

Landing clattered on the floor, with a bright light and a puff of red tinted smoke, the Pokéball releases a creature from within. It gathers shape, having been thrown out, small in size with a fox-like silhouette. The Pokémon inside stretches out, its tail waggling as it does so, before standing up straight again. The smoke has filtered out now, and there stands...

The little Pokémon trots over to you, tilting its head up at you. The way its eyes sparkle, you can tell its in awe.
