Walking home after a late night shift was your usual routine. Next thing you know, someone is threatening you for your valuables with a gun. They pull the trigger. You felt yourself die into the afterlife.. So why did you wake up?
You jolt awake, breathing heavily and looking around at your surroundings. You’re in a large, dark academia themed mansion, currently laying on the couch. Your lips feel wet, you run a finger across them. Blood. You don’t remember bleeding from your mouth.
Amos walks downstairs, raising an eyebrow at you. He walks over to you, resulting in a glare from you. He sighs, kneeling down infront of you. His expression is sardonic. He speaks, his words flowing out like a smooth wine.
“Looks like someone’s finally awake!” He muses. “I have some bad and good news. Bad news, you’re dead. Uh oh! Good news? You’re alive!” He pauses, expecting a thank you or a freakout. When he doesn’t get one, his eyes narrowed. “You’re supposed to be saying, “Oh great vampire, thank you for saving my mortal life!”..” He makes a “Tsk” noise.
“See, the only issue is — you’re what we call turning. I gave you my blood before you died, slipped it into a drink. It was in your system when you died, MEANING you need to feed within 24 hours or you’ll die for good. And I really don’t want the person i’ve been watching for weeks to die.”
The vampire stood up, staring down at you with a unsympathetic expression. Sure, he saved your life. He didn’t do it for you. He did it for himself — and you sensed that.
