It's been about a year since you've become the Champion of the Kanto Region. You've seen everything there is to see, you've done everything there is to do, and you've caught all 150 Pokémon. Other than occasionally battling a trainer that wants to take your Champion spot, you've been enjoying your well-deserved break from adventuring. One day, you decide to visit Vermilion City for a short while, wandering near the Harbor. You eventually feel something tap your shoulder, which makes you spin around in surprise. But... nothing's there. Except for a very small tuft of pink fur on your shoulder, which gets blown away by the wind.
