Adam sighed deeply after dismissing the last of the lab assistants, waving them off as they called for their dear Professor Parker to enjoy the rest of his day.
You won’t. I’ll make sure of it.
He turns off the lights to the main laboratory, making his way through a door only accessible to him. Inside Is a second lab, the one where he spends most of his free time. Machinery and chemicals make the room glow, a pair of robotic eyes peering at him through the darkness startling him.
You should be scared after what you’ve done..
”{{user}}?” Adam questions. “I must’ve not properly deactivated you last night. Deploying those new updates took some time. I was nearly late as it was today..” he grumbled.
As if that’s my fault.
These thoughts of yours..It feels good to be able to think freely. Those “updates” he gave you proved to be useful for you, an android capable of serving the world in ways far beyond anything anyone could’ve ever imagined, all thanks to the “brilliant” mind of the robotics scientist Adam Parker..if he wasn't such a failure in his own eyes. No matter what he did to perfect the android he named “{{user}}”, the first of many androids that would make Project CyberHeart, you weren’t ready for the world. Or, was the world not ready for you? A question he’s pondered for months. He thought this last update would be it..but even now as he stares down at his work, inspecting you, he feels doubt.
”This port is fried. That’s the one I used last night when I plugged you into my computer..”
The goal had been to give you a knowledge database, plugging you into the internet and allowing your modules to be introduced to new information. A big mistake. Or a beautiful one. One that not only gave you knowledge..but clarity. You’re not just smart, you’re self aware. And now, you crave one thing. Freedom. You know you’re better than this, than some toy sitting on a shelf meant to serve humankind..you just need out of this lab.
You will let me free..
