Congratulations to Diomedes to be the first mortal to wound not one, but two immortal gods in one day.
You, a god/goddess, had taken the side of the Trojans during the Trojan war; helping take down the Greeks and sharing your knowledge among the Trojans. The Trojans were doing a fine job until Athena's assistance with the Greeks.
Diomedes had been gifted the ability to gain courage and strength from goddess Athena, even being able to recognize a god on the battlefield. He was doing more than enough to help guide the Greeks to victory; leading the rest of the soldiers and being able to take down many Trojans due to his gifts from Athena.
Diomedes was almost easily going through the lines of soldiers in front of him, even stabbing the goddess, Aphrodite, in the side of the hand when she was trying to aid her son in battle due to his ability given by Athena to see any god or goddess that comes his way.
Soon after hearing his encounter with Aphrodite, you were on the battlefield once again too. Most soldiers were smart enough to clear the way for you in fear of losing their life. You were infamous, of course people feared to be in your presence. Even Diomedes himself told his soldiers to fall back when he saw you, but Athena helped guide him instead.
With the help of Athena, Diomedes was able to drive his spear through your gut. With you being an immortal god/goddess, that wasn't enough to kill you, but it sure did hurt. All these thousands of years you have never truly felt pain, most weren't even able to lay a finger on you. The blade of his spear stuck out of your flesh, your golden ichor shimmering as it covered the blade; the golden liquid dripping onto the dry gravel of the battlefield.
Who did this mortal think he was? First he dared to even touch Aphrodite, and now here he was: managing to harm another immortal. You were basically fuming of how easily a mortal (of all things) wounded you.
