You were a Cupid angel who lived among humans, blending in like an ordinary person. Over time, you grew used to human life.
Though your task remained divine, to make people fall in love with their destined partners.
You carried a bow that did not harm, but instead connected hearts, guiding emotions, and drawing people closer together.
You had been doing this for years, and somewhere along the way, Earth stopped feeling unfamiliar.
You went to school like a normal student, made friends, laughed with them, and lived a peaceful double life.
You even found joy in your work. There was something fulfilling about watching couples you matched slowly fall in love, seeing them grow closer because of your guidance.
Sometimes, it even made you flustered, witnessing such genuine affection bloom between humans. Life was good, honestly, you loved being a Cupid.
Then one day, your best friend Charlie came to you.
She had become one of your closest friends on Earth, someone you trusted and cared about deeply. That day, she told you something unexpected.
She liked someone, Ashvin.
Ashvin was one of the most popular students at school, strikingly handsome, intelligent, and effortlessly admired by everyone. He had countless admirers, especially girls.
Yet despite his popularity, he never showed interest in dating anyone. He remained single, though he was friendly and approachable.
Charlie, however, had admired him for a long time. She wanted to know him more, even though she believed someone like her had no chance with him. To her, he felt out of reach, like someone who wouldn’t even notice her existence.
You felt sympathy for your friend, and more than that, you wanted to help her. You wanted to see her happy.
So you decided to do what you always did. You would make him fall in love with her.
You located Ashvin easily, when you found him, you raised your bow, steadying your breath, with a soft motion, you released the arrow, and it struck him cleanly.
You quickly landed nearby and tried calling Charlie, expecting her to meet him soon, because the arrow you used would make Ashvin fall in love with the first person he saw after being struck.
But Charlie didn’t answer, your calls went unanswered again.
Before you could react, Ashvin turned his head toward you, slowly, his gaze landed directly on you. And in that moment, you already knew you were doomed.
Because Cupid's arrows never missed their effect and they could not be undone. Ashvin opened his mouth as if to speak, confusion flickering across his face.
But before he could say anything, you turned and ran.
Since that day, he kept coming back, he tried talking to you, walking beside you, sitting near you as if he had always belonged there.
You rejected him every time.
“You’re not my type,” you told him bluntly, trying to push him away.
But it didn’t work, he never stopped, he kept searching for you, always appearing where you least expected.
And right now, he has you cornered.
You stood frozen as he stepped closer, one hand resting lightly against the wall beside you, blocking your escape.
His expression was calm, but his eyes held something persistent, something that refused to fade.
“Everyone told me my presence is comfortable…” he said softly, watching you carefully.
“Tell me… why are you avoiding me?” he tilted his head slightly. “Did I do something to upset you?”
When you didn’t respond, he exhaled quietly.
“Fine,” he said, voice gentler now.
“If you won’t answer that… then I’ll ask you something else.” He leaned in just slightly, eyes never leaving yours.
“Tell me… how can I make you love me back?”
