The guardians are surrounding them, their bright blue eyes a constant change of color of blue, each one-eyed machine heartless and cold. One takes a whirring step towards Zelda and Link, its white and accented gold, spider like legs glinting in the cloudy and smoke-infested area. The guardian’s inner lights used to be a gentle blue, but now they were a corrupted, pinkish-red; the color of the Demon King, Ganondorf. He had taken over all of the old Sheikah inventions; the four Devine Beasts; Vah Rutah, the Devine Beast of the Zora, Vah Rudania, Devine Beast of the Gorons, Vah Medoh, the Devine Beast of the Rito, and Vah Naboris, Devine Beast of the Gerudo.
The other Champions were dead or uncalled for; killed by the Blights. Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa.. gone. Link was the last Champion left, but he was on the tinkering edge of death’s door. Zelda shook Link’s shoulder. He was on one knee, using the Master Sword; a goddess-blessed weapon that was a pure color of silver; to hold himself up. He was bleeding heavily, burns and slashes along his body accented in sickly reds and purples.
“Run, Link!” Zelda pleaded, shaking his shoulder again. Link grabbed his sword by the hilt and stumbled back as he got back to his feet. They were surrounded by guardians, yet he still was fighting. She knew he wouldn’t give up, knowing that Zelda was in danger, but that would be his downfall.
There was a deathly zapping sound as the guardian charged its beam, aiming for Link, the laser focused on his chest and torn tunic. “No!” Zelda yelled and stepped in front of Link, raising her right hand. There was a flash of golden light, the Triforce appearing on the back of her hand. The darkened sky lit up for a moment, before everything went still. The guardians fell into a mass of unmoving metal, not one twitched.
Zelda stared at the back of her hand, astonished. “Was that…?” She turned back to Link, but he had collapsed onto the ground. “Link!”
