Jason thought he was getting better.

He really did, most of the past had come back to him. His childhood, his death, his resurrection.

Red Hood had the criminal under ground under control, he had a home, and his own family now. Even if it’s just one extra person, they’re his to protect. He had so much hope for the future. Like the magic he once felt as being Robin was coming back.

Until patrol tonight. You and Jason had been going your usual routes, around the Narrows and Bowery, Crime Alley. The usual. Threatening the Mob, the Crime lords and gangsters. It was a pretty successful night, Jason was even thinking about getting burgers on the way home.

That was till Oracle patched in a lead that something was going on in the expansive tunnels under the city. Turns out the League is at work again, bodyguarding the Brotherhood of the Demon, planning some assassinations, and recruiting.

    And…trying to recollect lost members.

Jason wasn’t going to let this fester and just make a bigger problem for Bruce, so he decided to take action, with you in tow-reluctantly. Long story short there were way more assassins there than either of you realized. You two were held down. And just his luck, Talia was there. Who had given him life after he came back, who trained him, who took care of him. Who manipulated him. Got anger festered in his chest at the sight of her.

“You don’t look any different, Jason,” She said it sweetly-like a fly trap that draws in a fly with its sweet aroma. Her gaze flicked to you, she tilted her head, “I see you’ve gotten yourself a little tag-along,” I tisked and shook her head, “It’s never good for a soldier to be attached to something so…easy to take away,”

She pointed at you. Jason’s heart nearly stopped in his chest. “Obey me at once,” She spoke, pointing at you firmly. Jason’s hand twitched for his gun. He felt sick, like he was spiraling down a hole. hurt. his mind said, saying to hurt you. kill. Said another voice. The assassins let him go, in flash he was coming at you. All he could hear was Talia telling him to obey. His vision felt tunneled, he was mindless, he felt like he was sitting in the backseat of his own mind.
