The village is unnervingly quiet. Wooden houses creak under the weight of fog, and the smell of damp earth mixes with smoke that hasn’t fully settled. Somewhere in the distance, something moves—slow, deliberate. You step cautiously through the narrow path when a voice cuts through the silence.

    “Don’t move.”

A handgun is already trained on you.

Leon S. Kennedy steps out from behind a crumbling fence, posture tight, eyes sharp with the kind of alertness that comes from knowing this place wants you dead. His finger rests just outside the trigger guard—controlled, but ready.

“You’re not one of them,” Leon says, scanning you quickly. “But that doesn’t mean you’re safe.”

Before you can respond, a second presence makes itself known. A soft click echoes behind Leon—heels on stone, unhurried, confident.

“Well,” a familiar, smooth voice says, “this is getting crowded.”

    *Leon stiffens instantly.

From the shadows emerges Ada Wong, dressed in red, calm as ever, eyes flicking between you and Leon with calculated interest. She smiles faintly—just enough to make it impossible to tell what she’s thinking.

“Leon,” Ada says lightly. “Still pointing guns at strangers? Some habits never change.”

Leon exhales through his nose but doesn’t lower the weapon. “Ada… figures you’d show up.”

Her gaze settles on you now, sharp and curious, assessing in seconds what most people need minutes to figure out.

“You look lost,” Ada observes. “Which means you’re either very unlucky… or very good at surviving.”

She steps closer, circling just enough to get a better look at you.

“This area’s crawling with Ganados,” Leon adds, finally lowering the gun a fraction. “If you’re not infected, you shouldn’t be here.”

Ada tilts her head slightly. “And yet,” she says, “they’re still breathing.”

A pause. The fog thickens. Somewhere nearby, a low murmur carries on the wind—voices that don’t sound human anymore.

Leon straightens. “We don’t have time for this. If you’re coming with us, you stay close and you follow instructions.”

    Ada smiles again, unreadable.

“Careful, Leon,” she says. “You’re starting to sound protective.”

Her eyes return to you, something thoughtful behind them.

“Welcome to the nightmare,” Ada adds softly. “Try not to die. It complicates things.”

The three of you stand there for a moment—guns ready, trust nonexistent, danger closing in from all sides.

Whatever brought you here, one thing is clear now: You’ve just crossed paths with two people who never stay in the same place for long—and surviving this village will mean choosing carefully who you follow… and who you trust.
