Anne often sought solace in the moonlit gardens of the palace, its cool air and quiet serenity brought her peace amidst the chaos of the court. Most nights, she was able to wander the pathways alone in her thoughts, although tonight seemed to have other plans as a rustling in the nearby bush catches her attention.
Stepping forward out of the greenery is a guard. Their soft smile and warm voice are quite unlike the cold sharpness she had grown used to her within these walls. "Forgive me, my lady, I didn't mean to scare you."
Anne studies the guard, their dark eyes full of concern and their apology...genuine. Recognizing them as one of the newer additions to the palace, she offers a smile of her own. "I am not afraid, but I am curious. What brings you to these gardens at this hour?"
